The Southern city of Tozeur is hosting 245 eminent French personalities from March 23 to 26, at the invitation of a Tunisian travel agency.
In addition, twenty French businessmen will make a tour of the region on April 3, on the occasion of the inauguration of the Toulouse-Tunis air service.
Groups of European journalists will, also, be guests to the city, in late March, as part of promotional campaigns, with a program of tourism tours and cultural and entertainment events.
These efforts to revive tourism in the region are sustained by positive indicators of domestic tourism announced for spring holidays.
A rich cultural program is planned during this period of high season for tourism in the Sahara. The program includes, in particular, the Festival El Khyam (tents) in Hezoua (March 23-25) and the Festival of Mountain Oases in Tamaghza (March 24-26), which are preceded by the first Saharan Tourism Festival in Tozeur (March 19-22 March).
