Tunisia: 4 new water desalination stations with Japanese funding

To solve the problem of drinking water in some cities in the south, some 700 million Tunisian dinars (MTD) will be mobilized by 2022 to create four sea water stations in Sfax, Kerkenna, Zarat, (Gabes) and Djerba, CEO of the Tunisian Water Distribution Utility (SONEDE) Hedi Belhaj told ExpressFM.

The Sax plant will be carried out with funding from Japan (300MDT), he specified.

Among the other alternatives to mobilize new resources, he cited the construction of storage dams in Kalaat Kebira (Sousse) and Saidia (Tunis).
