A large economic delegation of the EU will visit Tunisia in late November to accelerate industrial cooperation and new agreements in the field of industrial trade facilitation between the two parties, said new Head of EU Delegation in Tunis, Laura Baeza after a meeting with Minister of Industry Mohamed Lamine Chakhari.

She said that the delegation, composed of 40 businessmen, will be led by Antonia Tajani, Vice-President of the European Commission who will participate in the Business and Technology Convention (CAT) to be held in Tunis from 28 to 30 November.

She said in particular that the EU continues to support the economic efforts of Tunisia which remains one of its main partners in developing and diversifying public support instruments for the reforms carried out by the country. New agreements will be ratified soon, she added, to realize this desire.

The minister highlighted the traditional relations of Tunisian-European partnership, expressing the desire to improve the conditions of work and residence for European companies active in Tunis.

He reiterated the commitment of the Ministry of Industry to constantly lend a receptive ear to these companies and particularly welcomed the support they provide to Tunisia in a difficult social and economic context.
