Tunisia: 49 MDT to promote destination Tunisia

The communication and marketing program, through media campaigns both at home and abroad, to promote awareness of the Tunisian destination in foreign markets, will be provided a budget of 49 million dinars in 2018.

The total budget, allocated for the Ministry of Tourism in the 2018 Finance Act is 151.032 MD.

In this budget of the whole ministry, 53.104 MD will be dedicated to wages.

For the comparison, the budget of the Ministry of Tourism in Morocco in the 2016 financial year was the equivalent of 211.896 MD (against 151 MD for Tunisia in 2018).

The Tunisian budget also provided the sum of 10.424 MD for the improvement of credits granted to tourism projects and for investment premiums.

Tunisia has welcomed 6.112 million tourists until November 10, 2017, a figure up 24% over the same period of 2016, Minister of Tourism, Selma Elloumi Rekik told a parliament committee on Thursday, November 16.

The Minister said the financial impact of the six million tourists was € 929 million.
