Tunisia: 4G services in late 2015, possible resort to 4th operator

Minister of Communication Technologies and the Digital Economy, Nooman Fehri said in a statement to the official Tunisian news agency TAP, “the marketing of 4G telecommunications services will begin by the end of 2015, indicating that in two weeks, a tender will be launched to select an engineering firm to set guidelines.

The ICT Minister also said “a Cabinet meeting will be held on September 7 to decide on the final orientation to be adopted in the execution of this project.

Specifications containing the conditions for granting a license of the 4G will be published.

N. Fehri, in this context, stressed “the good intentions of the three operators,” not excluding “the possibility of resorting to a fourth operator for the marketing of the 4G services.”
