Debts of the Tunisian Electricity and Gas Company amounted to 636.9 million Tunisian dinars (MTD) in late December 2014, which represents a decline compared to last November with unpaid bills estimated at 724 MTD.
These debts are distributed as follows: 340 MTD for ordinary clients, 26.5 MTD for industrialists, 47 MTD for litigation clients and 93.4 MTD for customers of public administrations.
According to the newspaper “Ekher Khaber,” 11,240 cases of electric power theft were posted in 2014, recording a significant increase from 2013 (7,700 cases).
