The Tunisian Electricity and Gas Company (STEG) has announced the launch on September 18 of its ninth nationwide survey of Tunisian households, in accordance with Law No. 32-99 of April 13, 1999 on statistics.
This survey, the aim of which is to evaluate household consumption in all its forms (lighting, refrigeration, air conditioning, heating, etc.), will be carried out from September 18, 2024 to March 14, 2025 by STEG agents, who will be authorized and equipped with identification badges.
The STEG adds that the information collected will only be used for statistical purposes and needs.
The Household Energy Consumption Survey is a five-year survey conducted by the Tunisian Electricity and Gas Company.
Eight surveys have been carried out over 35 years (since 1984), the last of which will be in 2019.
The aim of these surveys is to have a clear idea of the final use of electricity in the residential sector in particular, and of energy in its diversity (natural gas, LPG, burning oil, coal and wood).
