Tunisia: 75 million liters of beer sold by SFBT in H1 2019

After seeing a 5.4% drop in beer sales volumes year-on-year in the first quarter, the SFBT picked up again.

The volume of beer sales in the second quarter of 2019 grew by 4.3% to 338 thousand hectoliters. In total, the volume of beer sales over the first six months is 750 thousand hectoliters, or 75 million liters.

In contrast, the volume of soft drink sales remains on its downtrend recording a contraction of 15.6% with 494 thousand hectoliters sold in the first quarter of 2019, against 586 thousand hectoliters sold in the first three months of last year.

In terms of value, soft drink revenues declined by 2.3% in the first six months of the year, compared to an increase of 8.8% in beer revenues totaling 193.45 million dinars.

In total, the turnover of the SFBT increases by 4.5% to 290.6 million dinars against 278 million as of June 30, 2018.
