Tunisia: Adecco to cease operations from October after new labor law provisions

Adecco announced that it will cease its operations in Tunisia as of October 31, 2025.

The company confirmed to SIA that, following the adoption of new legislative provisions (Law 16/2025) on 23 May 2025, prohibiting temporary work and labor subcontracting, the Adecco Group “has made the difficult decision to cease its activities in Tunisia as of October 31, 2025.”

“This carefully considered decision stems from a significant change in the regulatory framework, no longer allowing us to continue our operations in the country,” Jürg Schneider, group head external communications, SVP, told SIA.

According to Enterprises Magazine, quoted by SIA, the decision was officially communicated to the company’s employees and customers in a press release dated August 21, a copy of which was posted on the doors of its premises.

In the press release, Adecco specified that this withdrawal is due to the new Tunisian legislation.

“Adecco had been operating in Tunisia since 2002, proudly supporting the country’s workforce and contributing to the development of a dynamic and inclusive labor market,” Schneider told SIA.
