Tunisia, Algeria sign customs agreement

A cooperation agreement between the Algerian and Tunisian customs administrations was signed Tuesday in Algiers to step up exchange and coordination.

The agreement was signed by the Director General of Customs, Mr. Kaddour Bentahar, and Director of Tunisian Customs, Adel Ben Hassen, following work of the Algerian-Tunisian joint customs cooperation commission.

The agreement covers the intensification of the measures already undertaken to facilitate the movement of passengers and goods and the fight against smuggling and trade fraud, says Algerian press agency APS.

It provides for increasing training activities and stepping up exchange of information between the regional directors of Customs of the two countries for better complementarity between them.
