Tunisia: AMI Assurances achieves turnover of 143 million dinars in 2021

AMI Assurances has just published, for the first time, its activity indicators relating to the 2021 financial year at the end of which the company’s overall turnover stood at 143.4 million dinars, against 144.1 million in 2020.

The non-life insurance sector showed a turnover of 135.3 million dinars, against 141.1 million in 2020, i.e. a regression of 4.2% stemming mainly from the decrease in written premiums of the Motor branch due to the maintenance of a selective underwriting policy

On the other hand, life written premiums went up 177% from 2.9 million dinars in 2020 to 8.2 million at the end of December 2021, thanks to the acceleration of bancassurance and the dynamism of general agents.

Ceded premiums grew 0.9 million dinars from 5.8 million dinars to 6.6 million between December 2020 and December 2021.

Claims settled totaled 108.4 million dinars compared to 100 million in 2020, an 8.5% rise which came mainly from the increase in settlements of the motor branch by 6.9 million dinars.

This increase in settlements is explained by the acceleration of claims settlement and the return to a normal pace of compensation activities in 2021 compared to the same period in 2020.

In addition, financial income increased by 0.6 million dinars, from 19.7 million as at 31 December 2020 to 20.2 million at the same date last year.

Commissions, on the other hand, decreased by 1 million dinars (-7%) coming mainly from the decrease in non-life written premiums.
