Tunisia: Ansaldo delivers Mornaguia power plant ahead of schedule

Ansaldo Energia has successfully completed, earlier than originally scheduled, the construction and start of operations of the gas-fired power plant of Mornaguia, Tunisia, the Italian foreign ministry was quoted as saying by ANSA.

The Tunisian government and “Société Tunisienne de l’Élecriticité et du Gaz” (STEG), which commissioned the work, expressed satisfaction over the fact that, despite the difficulties confronted due to the COVID-19 epidemic, the plant, with an installed power of 600 MW, was able to reach full production capacity in time for the summer consumption peak, the ministry said.

It recalled that Ansaldo in 2018 won the contract, worth some €250 million, for the construction of the plant equipped with two gas turbines
