According to the daily data of the Central Bank of Tunisia (BCT), the banknotes and coins in circulation (BCC) exceeded the 22.5 billion dinars mark for the first time on Tuesday, August 6.
The amount of the BCC increased by 2 billion dinars compared to its level on the same date last year.
In fact, the fiduciary circulation continued its increase observed in recent months, i.e. the period covering the month of Ramadan, the feasts of Aid al-Fitr and Aid al-Adha, as well as the current summer period.
The volume of the BCC has increased significantly since the second half of last year, after exceeding the 20 billion dinars mark for the first time at the end of June 2023.
