Tunisia: BIAT announces NBI of nearly 600 million dinars in H1

The “Banque Internationale Arabe de Tunisie” (BIAT) closed the first half of the current year with a Net Banking Income (NBI) of 597.7 million dinars, against 496.6 million at the end of June 2021, up 20% (+101 million dinars).

This NBI is composed of a margin in interest of 263.6 million dinars, a margin on commissions of 116.7 million dinars and other income of 217.4 million dinars.

The income from banking operations amounted to 872.1 million dinars in the first half of 2022, compared to 757.2 million a year earlier.

As for banking export expenses, they rose from 260.6 million dinars at the end of June 2021 to 274.5 million last June 30.

The outstanding net loans reached 11.7 billion dinars at the end of June against 12.1 billion on December 31, 2021, while the outstanding customer deposits stood at 16.3 billion dinars, against 16.2 billion on December 31, 2021.

The bank’s equity reached 1.65 billion dinars, against 1.84 billion dinars at the end of December 2021.

The equity is presented after allocation of the result of the fiscal year 2021 as approved by the shareholders’ ordinary general meeting of April 22, 2022.
