Bizerte cement plant “Cimenterie de Bizerte” net income for the first half of 2015 showed a deficit of 1.142 MTD against a loss of 4.147 MTD in the first half of 2014 and a deficit of 0.3564 MDT for the entire year 2014.
In a statement published on the Tunis Stock Exchange website, the company’s management explains this “reduction in the loss by 3,005,003 TD by the improvement in gross margin by 4,071,459 TD and increased sales by 2,530,779 TD on the one hand and the reduction of cost of sales 1,540,680 TD on the other”.
It is however important to note that despite incomes still rising (26.296 MTD in H1 2015 against 23.765 MTD in the same period of 2014), the gross margin of the company has been negative since 2014 and the operating result of the cement plant has always been in deficit.
