Tunisia: One million Algerian tourists until September 10

One million Algerians have crossed the Tunisian border this year until September 10, 2015, up 17% compared to 2014, Tourism Minister Salma Elloumi recently said on the sidelines of a meeting with a Belgian delegation.

Despite the sharp decline in tourist arrivals, only the Algerians have not shunned the Tunisia destination.

The Tunisian government recently announced new measures to facilitate the movement of travelers across the border with Algeria in order to meet the increased pace of trade and tourism.

These include basically upgrading border posts, the creation of reception and entertainment areas and control offices alongside police and customs stations.

This initiative aims to speed up registration procedures and travelers passing measures and modernize border crossings to meet the requirements of the next period that will see a development in the pace of trade and tourism between the two countries.
