The Tunisian Electricity and Gas Company and BNP PARIBAS signed, Thursday, April 11, 2013, a 72-million-Euro loan agreement.
The loan will finance part of the project implementation (construction and installation) of two gas turbines in Bir Mcherga (Zaghouan Governorate), whose total installed capacity is 256 MW, STEG said in a statement.
This power project, whose commissioning is scheduled for June 2013, aims to satisfy the national demand for electricity, which has recorded an annual sustained growth of 6%.
The total cost of the gas turbines project in Bir Mcherga is 240 million dinars and includes the design, factory manufacture, supply, transport at work, on-site assembly, testing and industrial commissioning of electro-mechanical equipment, studies and work of civil works as well as auxiliary and ancillary works and equipment.
