Tunisia calls on EU to create stabilization fund (Exclusive)

In an exclusive interview with African Manager on Thursday, May 5, 2016, the Director General of Euro-Mediterranean cooperation at the Tunisian Ministry of Investment and International Cooperation, Fethi Ben Mimoun, said “it was suggested to the Union European to set up a trust fund for Tunisia.”

He added that this “stabilization and solidarity fund” in the amount of EUR one billion, aimed at financing several projects planned by the government in several regions of Tunisia.

“Outstanding support has been proposed outside the annual funding of EUR 200 million to respond to citizens’ demands and this, through the creation of new projects,” the official said. He added that this request was transferred to the European Union.
