Tunisia: Commercial container traffic at Sfax Port reaches 20%

Activity at Tunisian ports has seen positive growth in recent years, said Istabrak Ben Abdallah, Commercial Director of Tarros Company.

Speaking on the program Expresso during a special segment on the logistics sector on Thursday, March 26, she noted that the commercial port of Rades accounts for 58% of total trade, including about 29% related to energy trade and phosphate exports.

The port of Sousse represents 7.5%, Sfax 21.6%, and the commercial port of Zarzis 4.7%.

Ben Abdallah also highlighted that the nature of commercial activity in these ports has evolved notably in recent years.

In particular, Sfax port has seen commercial container traffic rise to 20%, significantly contributing to the development of port activity in central and southern Tunisia.
