Tunisia: deficit of trade balance further widens, according to BCT

The Executive Board of the Central Bank of Tunisia (BCT), meeting on November 26, 2014, noted, again, further negative developments following the widening of the current account deficit (+ 29% or 1,439 MTD), over the first ten months of the year, reaching 6,396 MTD, the equivalent of 7.7% of GDP against 6.5% during the same period of 2013.

This is the result of the continuous expansion of the trade balance deficit (+ 19.1% at the end of October 2014) to 11.8 billion dinars, it said.
