Tunisia: discovery of a tunnel leading to the residence of the French ambassador

Users of social networking sites circulated yesterday evening, Tuesday, news about the discovery of a tunnel leading to the the residence of the French ambassador in Tunisia, in the direction of “La Marsa”.

According to Mosaic FM, quoting security sources, the discovery of the tunnel was made after the authorities evacuated, by a judicial decision, families living in a large house near the residence.

After the expulsion of these families, a hole of a wide diameter was discovered, and research directed in the first stage that it was related to excavations in search of treasures. However, with the progress of research, the investigators were surprised by the length and extension of the tunnel, specifically at a distance of 270 meters and ending to a place not far from the residence of the French ambassador in Tunisia.

The Public Prosecution Office of the Court of First Instance in Tunis authorized the opening of an investigation undertaken by the National Guard agents to reveal the truth and the circumstances of this tunnel and the purpose of digging it.

It is worth noting that the official spokesman for the Ministry of Interior said in a radio statement that research is underway on the existence of a secret tunnel that leads to the residence of the French ambassador in the “La Marsa” region in Tunisia.
