Tunisia: domestic production of crude oil down

According to figures provided by the National Energy Observatory, domestic production of crude oil went down 4% at the end of May 2015, reaching 1,033 kt.

This decline is due to lower production of field Anaguid East (-43%) because of the temporary closure of wells Amani # 2 and Nada # 1 for economic reasons and the reduction of the production of Hasdrubal field ( -12%) because of the problem that occurred at the LPG processing unit.

The latest report of the National Energy Observatory has also focused on the interruption of production in two fields. They are the Sabria field and that of Franing as a result of social problems.

Other factors are behind this decrease, particularly the continuation of the natural decline in production in key fields, including those of Hasdrubal, Adam, Cherouk, Ouedzar, Dido, and MLD.
