Tunisia: exports to EU rising again

Tunisian exports to the European Union (EU) grew 5.6% in the first eight months of 2013, according to the latest figures from the National Statistics Institute (INS).

This rise results from the increase in sales to certain European partners like the UK (25.6%), Spain (18.7%) and Germany (10.5%).

The increase in exports to third countries was also recorded with Turkey (80.6%) due to higher sales of products derived from phosphate and with Russia (57.2%).

The results of trade with key Arab partners also posted an improvement with Libya (8.7%) and Algeria (2.2%), while trade with Morocco declined (7.5%).
