Tunisia and Germany agreed Tuesday to boost cooperation in matters of renewable energy and industry at a working session chaired by Industry and Trade Minister Mohamed
Lamine Chakhari and Mrs. Cornelia Peiper, Minister in charge of Foreign Affairs.
Mrs. Peiper, escorted by a delegation of German businessmen and officials of her department, said Germany will boost bilateral cooperation notably through the promotion of DESERTEC projects and increased training in the fields of renewable energy.
DESERTEC President Paul Von Son reminded to this end that the German initiative DESERTEC” is examining with Tunisia’s ”STEG Renewable Energy (STEG ER)” and the National Energy Management Agency, a pilot project for photovoltaic production with a
2-Megawatt capacity allowing testing various technologies developed in this sector.
