Tunisia: Government, UTICA agree on joint monitoring cell

The Prime Ministry and the Tunisian Union of Industry, Trade and Handicrafts (UTICA) agreed, on Thursday, to create a joint cell tasked with monitoring hardships confronting several sectors, particularly small businesses.

During a talk held Thursday in Tunis, Prime Minister Hamadi Jebali and Mrs. Wided Bouchamaoui, UTICA chairwoman, it was decided to create this joint structure to identify the urgent solutions to the posed issues.

UTICA chairwoman stressed the need to involve the employers’ organization in all economic and social files of concern to the private sector.

She also called on all sides to strive to face up the current issues which confronted the Tunisian economy, reviewing ways to energise economic growth, in addition to the creation of new investments and jobs.

Mrs. Bouchamaoui reviewed UTICA’s action program in matters of investments and job creation.
