Tunisia: Hoteliers risk a bad end of season, according FTH President

”Hoteliers are very worried because they might experience a bad end of season after the assassination of Mohamed Brahmi and recent acts of terrorism in Châambi,” said Mr. Radhouan Ben Salah, President of the Tunisian Hotel Trade Federation (FTH).

“Tunisia has experienced a dangerous turn, and tourism cannot escape unscathed,” he said Thursday in a statement to TAP, stressing that “this atmosphere will discourage foreign partners (tour operators …) that will opt, therefore, for other destinations.

While noting that cancellations of reservations have not exceeded to this day a rate of 0.5% of total bookings, President of FTH did not minimize the impact of the escalating violence on tourism and the Tunisian economy.
