Tunisia: Indian delegation of entrepreneurs exploring investment opportunities

A delegation of Indian entrepreneurs, led by Shabinaa Sultana, Honorary Consul of the Republic of Tunisia in Karnataka, and accompanied by Akkshye Tulsyan, an Indian industrial investor, was received, Tuesday, at the Agency for the Promotion of Industry and Innovation (APII).

The discussions covered several topics related to the business climate in Tunisia, reforms aimed at strengthening the competitiveness of the industrial sector, as well as incentives and advantages granted to investment projects.

High-potential sectors and the wealth of Tunisian expertise were also presented as major assets for international investors.

Tulsyan, for his part, expressed particular interest in assessing the development potential of a solar energy project, an ambitious investment capable of generating nearly 600 jobs.

On this occasion, the APII reaffirmed its full readiness to support the investor throughout the different stages of project study and implementation.

The same delegation was received on November 17 by the Tunisian Investment Authority (TIA). The discussions also highlighted the progress made by recent Indian investments in several emerging sectors in Tunisia.

Both parties reaffirmed their willingness to strengthen bilateral economic cooperation and agreed to continue exchanging information on potential investment areas, with the objective of further encouraging the presence of Indian companies in Tunisia.

In this regard, the Tunisian Investment Authority reiterated its commitment to strengthening partnerships and boosting investment ties between Tunisia and India.
