Tunisia: inflation rate falls to 5.4% in October 2014

Tunisia’s annual inflation rate fell for the third consecutive month in October, dipping to 5.4 percent from 5.6 percent in September thanks to a slight decline in food and drink prices, data from the National Institute of Statistics showed on Wednesday.

Inflation in 2014 peaked at 6 percent in July, before starting to fall.

Tunisia’s central bank in June raised its key interest rate to 4.75 percent from 4.5 percent to counter inflation, its second rate hike in six months.
