Tunisia: investment intentions for projects costing more than 5 MD up 31%

Investments in projects costing more than 5 MD have increased by 31.9% from 972.4 MD in the first eight months of 2016 to 1,282.3 MD in the same period of 2017.

This is reflected in the latest figures published by the Agency for the Promotion of Industry and Innovation (APII).

These projects will create 9,830 jobs, compared with 6,944 jobs in the same period of 2016, up 41.6%.

Projects of 5 MD and more which represent only 4.7% of the number of projects reported and 24.7% of the number of jobs, total 53.9% of the total investments reported.

Of the 116 projects (I> 5 MDs) reported during the first eight months of 2017, 21 projects totaled an investment of 534.4 MD, or 41.7% of the total investment (I> 5 MD).
