Tunisia is back on the world wheat market

The weakening of the euro is making the European wheat more competitive on international markets, as it results in strong demand, with offers from Algeria and Tunisia. “Demand is still there and is not expected to decrease,” said one trader in Paris after the Algerian Cereals Agency (CATO) issued a tender to buy 50,000 tons of wheat, while Tunisia marks its return to the market to buy 67,000 tons of wheat. Tunisia has also offered to buy 25,000 tons of barley, according to traders, while some dealers suggest that Italy is also back on the market to buy wheat and durum wheat in France.
