Tunisia-Italy Mobility: 15,000 placed, 2,000 in construction

A new cooperation agreement on legal migration will be signed on April 13, 2026, between Tunisia and Italy. It continues the THAMM-Plus program.

The agreement will be signed by Minister of Labor and Vocational Training, Riadh Chaoued, alongside Italian authorities, according to the Italian news agency Nova.news.

The agreement will cover the legal employment of young Tunisian workers in construction, industrial maintenance, information and communication technologies, and agriculture.

The ThAMM-Plus program has already enabled more than 15,000 young Tunisians to secure jobs. A previous agreement signed in Tunis in 2024 allowed 2,000 Tunisian construction workers to enter Italy.

A numerical assessment shows that over 500 beneficiaries have been employed in France, while nearly 1,000 received additional training.

Identified obstacles include visa processing times in Italy, which can reach up to 12 months.
