The production unit of Leoni Tunisia’s subsidiary in Mateur resumed operations on Wednesday, said the communications officer of the Union of Tunisian Workers (UTT), after Tuesday’s suspension, according to Mosaique FM.
In a telephone interview, the official told us that the condition of Moomen Darraji, the secretary general of the company union coming under the Union of Tunisian Workers, who tried to set himself on fire yesterday, is followed up by the Executive Board of the UTT.
“Discussions are ongoing to resolve the problem,” she says.
It should be recalled that an agreement was reached following discussions between the Director General of German company Leoni in Tunisia, Mohamed Larbi Rouis, several political parties and local inhabitants to avoid the closure of this plant
