The total turnover of the company “les Ciments de Bizerte” recorded a decrease of 32.56% (i.e. 9.7 million dinars) at the end of December 2023, according to the company’s activity indicators for the 4th quarter of 2023, published on Tuesday by the Tunis Stock Exchange.
During the same period, the company’s local turnover went down by 34.29% compared to the same period in 2022, reaching TND 19.599 million in 2023.
Similarly, the demand for binders in the local market continued to decline, both for the sector as a whole and for the company.
“In fact, 2023 saw the lowest consumption of binders (cement and lime sales) since 1999, with sector-wide sales at 4.978 million tons, well below the installed capacity of 12.5 million tons,” the company said.
