Tunisia: Libya to provide 450,000 barrels per month from August

Libya will provide Tunisia 450,000 barrels per month from August 2013 until the end of the year, it appeared from minutes of the proceedings of the bilateral oil and gas cooperation commission signed Tuesday in Tripoli.

The minutes, which were co-signed by Tunisian Industry Minister Mehdi Jomâa and Libyan Minister of Oil and Gas, also stated that this amount will be increased to 650,000 barrels of crude oil / month in 2014.

An agreement was also reached to create a higher energy institute in Tataouine.

Both parties also agreed to establish a working group that will conduct a study on the technical and economic feasibility for the connection of power grids of the two countries, with a power of 400Kvolts. That working group will present a report on its work in 2013.

An agreement on the commercial exchange of electricity between the two countries was signed in the same framework.
