Tunisia: MMR reaches 5.61% in February, its highest level since March 2003

The Money Market Rate (MMR) reached in February 2018 its highest level since March 2003 at 5.61%, against 5.53% in January 2018 and 5.23% in December 2017.
It should be recalled that the Central Bank of Tunisia (BCT) had extended in January the limits of the permanent credit and deposit facilities by +/- 25 basis points over a lending rate at +/- 100 basis points, under the restrictive effect of the continuation of external imbalances, the increase in the mass of banknotes and currencies in circulation and the deficit of bank liquidity.
