Tunisia: more reported investments in regional development areas

The first five months of 2016 saw an increase in reported investment in regional development areas by 51.1% with 684.7 million Tunisian dinars (MTD) against 453.2 MTD during the first five months of 2015.

The share of these areas in all governorates has increased from 38.4% to 47.9% during the first five months 2016, according to the latest figures of the Agency for the Promotion of Industry and Innovation.

The increase recorded in reported investments in regional development areas is mainly due to the governorates of Siliana and those of Kairouan, Jendouba, Gafsa, Sfax and Zaghouan.
