Almost 81% of Tunisian companies are suffering the hardships of COVID-19: this is the major finding of a study on the “Impact of COVID-19 on Tunisian Companies,” published by the Arab Institute of Business Leaders (French: IACE) in April.
The impact of the crisis unfolded as there were production shutdown, closure of outlets, standstill in business-to- business collections as well as international trade grinding to a halt, the study showed.
The percentage of companies hit by COVID-19. varies from one sector to another: 85.11% for industry , 69.23% for the building sector, 76% for trade, 78.79% for business services, 90% for personal services and 80.77% for other sectors.
The health crisis is expected to have a negative impact on the turnover of 96% of the companies surveyed.
The turnover will drop on average by 52.66% for industrial companies, 46.67% for building businesses , 61.88% for commercial companies, 47.26% for business services, 70% for personal services and 58% for other sectors.
