Tunisia: Nouvelair inaugurates its new route between Tunis and Basel, Switzerland

Nouvelair, on March 14, officially inaugurated its new route between Tunis and the Swiss city of Basel, located on the Rhine at the confluence of the Swiss, French and German borders.

The company’s CEO, Mr. Karim Milad, accompanied by the Swiss Ambassador to Tunisia, Mr. Josef Renggli, media partners, guests and influencers, attended a reception organized by the company at Tunis Carthage Airport.

“Our company will operate three flights a week to Basel-Mulhouse airport: Two flights from Tunis every Tuesday and Saturday and a flight from Djerba every Tuesday starting in June,” said Nouvelair’s CEO.

He added that “this new destination, the second Swiss city to be served by the company after Geneva, reflects Nouvelair’s desire to be close to its passengers. It is, of course, aimed at Tunisian and Swiss passengers, but it also offers travel opportunities to all communities living in the French and German border areas, and to support the development of tourism by offering the various Swiss, French and German tour operators and travel agencies more opportunities to market the Tunisian destination, while offering direct access to Tunisian citizens.”

For his part, the Swiss ambassador in Tunis, Mr Josef Renggli, congratulated the company on its constant desire to open up new horizons. Through this route, new tourist and commercial links will consolidate relations between our two countries and bring our two peoples even closer together.”

On arrival in Bale, a ceremony was organized by the management of Bale Mulhouse airport in the presence of the representative of the Tunisian Embassy in Bern, Mrs Rim El Memmi.

A few days ago, Nouvelair announced the strengthening and expansion of its network with 11 new routes. The service to Basel is the first stone in the construction of the increase in flights planned by the company for 2023.
