Tunisia has passed the 5-million mark for foreign tourists visiting the country until August 20, i.e. a clear improvement over the same period last year, said the chief of staff of the Minister of Tourism.
This increase in the number of tourists was coupled with a significant improvement in revenues which grew 36.7% in euros, compared to last year.
According to data from the Central Bank of Tunisia (BCT), tourism receipts cumulated at last July 31 reached 1.748 billion dinars against 1.216 billion at the same date in 2017, i.e. a growth of 532 million dinars (+43.75 %).
