Tunisia: olive oil exports up 25%, still below European quota

Tunisia’s olive oil exports reached 67,500 tons in the period between January 1 to date, compared with 54,000 tons in the same period last year, up 25%, the Agriculture Ministry said Wednesday.

With regard to the exports quota granted to Tunisian by the European Union, national exports reached 5,100 tons of olive oil in the first half of June, while the allowed volume is 10,000 tons for the month of June.

Therefore, Tunisian private exporters have additional export opportunities to reach the authorized quota, said the ministry.
