The number of strikes increased by 6% during the first six months of this year compared with the same period last year.
According to figures from the Ministry of Social Affairs, the number of working days lost due to strikes posted a 31% increase over the same period.
However, figures show that the number of businesses affected by strikes fell by 19%.
Regarding legal strikes, their number decreased during the six months of this year. Until last June, some 141 legal strikes were observed on a total of 269 strikes, i.e. a rate of 59%. During the same period last year, 212 legal strikes were observed on a total of 391 strikes, i.e. 52%.
