Tunisia: overall bank refinancing volume hits 14.1 billion dinars, a record

The overall volume of refinancing of banks with the Central Bank of Tunisia (BCT) has reached a new historical record.

Its level has therefore exceeded on May 7, 2018 the bar of 14.1 billion dinars, the highest ever recorded, against 9.36 billion at the same date in 2017.

A few days before the month of Ramadan, the acceleration of imports has, it seems, increased the use of banks to the Central Bank for the purchase of foreign currency to cover external commitments of economic agents.
