Perenco has picked up a large stake in an oilfield off Tunisia after closing a deal with Austria’s OMV, “Upstream” site reported.
The buyer now has a 50% stake in the Ashtart field in the Gulf of Gabes after the deal, with an effective date of 1 January last year, was finalised only on Wednesday.
Perenco has also taken OMV’s 50% interest in related operating company SEREPT. No value was disclosed by OMV.
