Tunisia: air traffic rises 17.7% in H1 2017 (OACA)

The air traffic of passengers in Tunisian airports climbed by 17.7% during the first half of 2017 compared to the same period in 2016 with 500 thousand new passengers in the Tunis Carthage International Airport, the Office of Civil Aviation and Airports (French: OACA) said.

The number of travelers at the Tunis Carthage International Airport rose by 23.9% during the first six months of 2017 with 2,589,2020 passengers till June 2017 against 2,089,396 during the first half of 2016, OACA reported.

The Djerba-Zarzis International airport also recorded a significant increase in the number of passengers by 8.5%, the Tozeur-Nefta airport was by 45.4% while the Sfax-Tyna airport declined by 49.6%.

The number of commercial flights grew 10.6% while the number of cargo flights climbed 23.5% in the first half of 2017.
