French financial institution PROPARCO has granted a credit line of EUR 10 million (about 22 million dinars) to “Tunisie Leasing” (TL) to “support the development of its activity,” said a recently published joint statement.
The credit line should allow TL to make available to its customers’ access to long-term financing, while complementing the offer of financing solutions in local currency. “
It will also help “expand the range of financial services available in Tunisia” according to the statement.
The new credit line is intended “to contribute to diversify TL financing sources in a context of liquidity tension in dinars and in foreign currency, particularly exacerbated since the Revolution,” the statement added.
Customers of Tunisie Leasing, which has been part of the Amen Group since 1984, are made up especially of small and medium enterprises (SMEs) and very small enterprises (VSE) active in the areas of trade, services and industry.
PROPARCO is owned by the French Development Agency (AFD) and private shareholders.
