Tunisia: Proparco invests 4 MTD in higher education

Proparco, the French Development Agency (AFD) dedicated to the private sector, has announced an agreement with the shareholders of the private College of Engineering and Technology (ESPRIT) in Tunisia for a stake of € 2 million (4 million dinars) within this institution.

The signing ceremony was attended by Marie-Hélène Loison, deputy general manager of Proparco, Tahar Ben Lakhdar and Naceur Amar, school leaders, and Aziz Mebarek and Karim Trade associate of Africinvest Tuninvest Group.

Founded in 2003, ESPRIT has become the first private institution in terms of numbers, with more than 3,500 students over the year 2012-2013. ESPRIT trains mainly engineers operating in the field of information and communication technology (ICT).

The school offers its students a double degree with the Universities of Nice-Sophia-Antipolis, Paris-Dauphine, Paris I Sorbonne and the Institute Mines-Télécoms.
