Tunisia, Qatar to hold joint employment and investment forums

The Qatar-based Tunisian Businessmen Council plans to organize, in Tunisia, two Tunisian-Qatari forums on employment and investment; the forums will be held in the first term of 2012. According to a statement released Tuesday in Tunis, the Tunisian-Qatari forum on employment aims to lay down solid foundations for a new employment co-operation strategy between the two countries. This approach will rest on such main components like fight against mediation in hiring, contribution to the training of the Tunisian workforce and its adaptation to the needs of the Qatari job market and Gulf countries.

The Tunisian-Qatari forum on investment is meant to stimulate investment and rescue ailing Tunisian enterprises, the same source added. On the fringes of this forum, Qatari businessmen will visit Tunisia to identify the country’s business opportunities. The Council will also work to re-launch frozen Qatari projects in Tunisia, the statement added. The Council was created early 2011 by a group of Tunisian businessmen living in Qatar.
