As part of the promotion of Tunisia as a reliable destination for German automotive components industries , an information day was organized on 5 February 2014, in Nuremberg in the Bavarian region, a stronghold of the German automotive industry with the participation of a strong delegation of Tunisian industrial institutions.
The day was organized in partnership with the Tunisian Union of Industry, Trade and Handicrafts (UTICA) and the Industry Promotion Agency (API), on the Tunisian side and in cooperation with the Bavarian Ministry of Economy, the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Nuremberg and AHK Tunis, on the German side.
German participants at the meeting, most of them contractors in the German automotive components sector, were informed, through technical presentations and business testimonials, of the typical features of the investment environment in Tunisia and the competitive factors Tunisia offers to investors in this sector.
It is recalled that the Tunisian mechanical, electrical and electronic industries sector is the first recipient of foreign investment and the first industrial exporter.
The strong presence of German industrial sector in Tunisia dates back to the early 1970s and ever since jewels of the German automotive industry have established production facilities there.
