Tunisia: reported investment with foreign participation in services doubles

Investments with foreign participation in service activities rose from 93.7 MD during the first ten months of 2016 to 196.3 MD during the same period of 2017, posting an increase of 110.6%.

This rise is due as well to both the partnership projects whose investments reached 162 MD against 70 MD during the first ten months of 2016 (+ 130%.), and the 100% foreign projects whose investment reached 34.3 MD against 23.2 MD during the first ten months of 2016, up 47.6%.

This is what emerges from the latest figures of the Agency for the Promotion of Industry and Innovation (APII).

On the other hand, the number of projects with foreign participation decreased by 9.5%, from 986 during the first ten months of 2016 to 892 in 2017.

This decrease results from the 19.8% drop in the number of partnership projects (295 projects in the first ten months of 2017 compared to 368 during the same period of 2016), as in the case of 100% foreign projects where the number reached 597 against 618 during the first ten months of 2016.

As for the jobs to be created, they saw an increase of 11.4% for partnership projects and a decrease of 19.8% for 100% foreign projects.
