Tunisia’s tourism sector grew by 23.3 percent in 2017, Tourism and Handicrafts Minister Selma Elloumi announced at the House of People’s Representatives (HPR) on Wednesday.
She added that 2.1 million Algerian tourists and 1.176 million Libyans visited Tunisia this year.
Similarly, significant gains were recorded in Chinese tourist flows, which jumped 108%, while those in the Gulf posted an increase of 18%.
As for overnight stays, the number reached 20 million, against 16 million last year, edging up 23%.
